Myself
I am a 38 year who has had a passionate for art since I was 7. My dad possessed a framed image of the mona Lisa and maybe that struck my interest.
I feel that life is a story for each one of us and a doorway to new and evolving ideas by the use of formal elements. My passion was rekindled in art after my job gave me the opportunity to do weekend work. My artwork projects have taken on a diverse form relying on detail and the process of chiaroscuro and Dadaism. But beyond this is what makes us human. Which is portraid in many of my images of violence and the darker aspects of life. This stems from my passion for the works of Clive Barker. My evenings are now taken up by watching uncommercial movies and producing artwork. Although oils are my prefered medium the last 2 years have limited this due to quickfire projects with a slow drying medium. I am very introvert as a character, a nihilist but objective in my approach to the world. I like literature from the nihilism of Dostoyevsky to the science of Dawkins.
In art one can play a god as one can falsify or even intensify the truth. My passion for hyper realism and chiaroscuro maybe is my final goal in how I want my art to look although I view art like evolution, forever changing. dreams play a huge roll in this. Although I like illustrative art and much of my art moves this way I feel that realism over characatures and strive for the technical brilliance of a gerrit dou and the masterly detail of medieval manuscripts.
I am really excited by the university as I was impressed by the ability to be independent and less restrictive, which the last 2 years have been. I went to an open meeting and was surprised by much of the artwork that was being produced, as well as the amenities which was excellent. My intention is to be one of the finest artists. I enjoy driving and work independently.

Violent crime
Self Portrait
A now lost sketchbook. A self portrait of myself using tones and colours inspired by the works of Max Beckmann.
All good things come to an end
Acylic on canvas paper. The composition was inspired by the works of Heironymous Bosch's "seven deadly sins," and the illustrative work of Peter Suart. I used a student for the central character (Fuchsia thank you) and continuous line drawings of the outer characters based on primary sources. The colours where tested looking at cools and warms to add atmosphere.contrasting elements.
If she drinks the potion she could reside in her impending doom. I like the concept of choices. The last character in the circle is the death of Dr Jekyll. Who also took the potion. All good things come to an end.
The implementation of a female character was designed to bring the story of Jekyll and Hyde to a female perspective.

Gil Elvgren
Oil on canvas inspired by the works of Gil Elvgren. This image was prior to my studies. I'm obsessed with the aesthetic rather than the truth of ugliness.
The falseness of a judgement is not necessarily an objection to a judgement.
Nietzsche.

Weapons of mass communication
A photoshop graphic design trying to create an advertising hoarding for apples devices. Photographic material as source.
Using weapons as a theme and the evolutionary man concept. I wanted to create the concept that communication is the modern age can be just as powerful to a mass market.

Erotic devil
Prior to study i created illustrative work inspired by the works of Judson huss, Salvador Dali, and Jan Van Eyck fused with my own surreal nature.
Estranged doll
A comic book image based on primary sources of myself and objects and textures within my house. Photoshop was the main tool in this piece of work.
My nightmares are prevalent in my life and i have depicted the story based on a nightmare that was vivid to me at the time regarding an evil entity that was hovering in the corner of my room. The entity was replaced by the doll in the comic strip to make the piece more comercial.
